"El niño del viento" - “The Child of the Wind”

Once upon a time there was the child of the wind.

Tomás had treasures in his hair, treasures the Wind whirled around while heading for the hills all during the summer. It was then that Tomas used to run between salty blasts of air made by the Sea. And while Mrs. Breeze was playing with Tomas’s hair and had his wavy‐hairstyle done, thousands of dinosaurs, cars, the name of his brother Gabriel, and many super heroes, emerged.

The Breeze used to sing to Tomás, as shells sing to the ear of the good listener, telling the child about authentic stories of the Sea, while combining them with whoosh and splashhh, sounds which came from the deep deep ocean.

Seals and penguins, dolphins, sea stars, everything used to remain as a memory in Tomas’s curly hair. These were the stories that he used to untangle from his hair to share with his older brother Gabriel. And those were the times when Gabriel laughed in anticipation, happy about what he was going to hear, between whoosh and splashhh…
